Michael Carnegie Named AIC Industry Professor of Strategic Business Valuation

Michael Carnegie has been named AIC Industry Professor of Strategic Business Valuation (SBV) at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University.  A practice leader with Taylor Leibow since 1998, Mike practices solely in the areas of Business Valuations and Litigation Support.  A member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, Mike has obtained the top professional designation awarded to litigation accountants and business valuators.  He is also recognized by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants as an expert in business valuations, having been granted the CA•CBV designation. 

Mike teaches Financial Modeling and Strategic Business Valuation in the SBV Specialization of the MBA program at DeGroote.  “We are very pleased to have Mike join our faculty and bring his expertise into the classroom.  Students benefit greatly from his extensive experience in the field of business valuations,” says Dr.  Patricia Wakefield, Director, AIC Institute.

Mike has been recognized by Canadian courts as an expert in the fields of Business Valuations and Economic Analysis and assists legal counsel in all aspects of the litigation process. 

Born and raised in Hamilton, Mike currently lives in Ancaster with his wife and their two children.  His strong sense of community involvement manifests itself through community-based volunteering, particularly as the treasurer of the Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation.  When away from the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and competing in amateur athletics.  As a champion swimmer, Mike holds several Ontario and National records in his age category and has won many medals at Provincial and National swimming competitions.
